I have never stayed in a hotel in New York City so I really don’t know all
about these places. I remove a hotel from this list if I hear something
bad about it. So, if it is on this list it certainly is worth at least

Quality Hotel Midtown

prices and good location in the theater district. Built in 1902.
The Gershwin Hotel
7 E. 27th between 5th & Madison
Ave. 212-545-8000, fax 684-5546. $25 per person in 4 to
8 bed dorms. $89 - $129 for 1 to 3 people in
private rooms. Pop Art with Andy Warhol.
It's close to Fifth Avenue.
New Yorker Hotel
481 Eighth Avenue at 34th Street.
212-971-0101. As low as $159 per night. Located
in Midtown Manhattan, this hotel is close to the Javits Convention Center, near the Empire State Building
and not far from the Theater District, by foot or taxi. This 1000 room NYC
Hotel is at Madison Square Garden, The Paramount Theater, Penn Station and a 5
minute walk to Macy's.
The Herald Square Hotel

com startups. Located in between Midtown and Greenwich Village.
Cosmopolitan Hotel

Chinese porcelain and marble baths. Wood burning fireplaces in the
suites. Famous people such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michelle Pfeiffer, and
Madonna stayed here.

location. Marble floors, curvilinear ceiling and a modern Deco

Washington Square Hotel

979-8373. $110 - $159. Next to Washington Square Park. Joan Baez and Bob Dylan lived in this hotel singing in the
park before they hit it big time.
Mansfield Hotel

to it's original beauty. The first floor library hosts piano & harp
recitals.
The Inn at Irving Place

Gramercy Park. Only 12 rooms, makes it one of the smallest in Manhattan,
very romantic. Some rooms are small but each has a fireplace and four poster bed. There isn't a front desk, but a parlor with
antique cart serving punch and sherry.
