****TWO WARS ARE BETTER THAN ONE…. some people die, some people make profits with u.s. army contracts. WAR

****GIULIANI ORDERED TO GRAND JURY TO TALK ABOUT HIS PARTNER’S BUSINESS DEALINGS….the number one comment visitors say to new yorkers is that rudy made the big apple the great city that it is. he did cheat on two wives and he did have scandals and he was accused of being a racist and he was full of public relations. he did not make the city great. he was an embarrassment.

****SPEAK NEW YAWK (people will wonder at your sophistication)….”schmuck” is a real dope. it is not a dirty word although it sounds like one. there actually is a place where some schmucks work.

****OLD TIME RADIO (shows you might be too young to remember)….mel blanc was probably best known for the many voices he did for cartoon movies. THE PAST

****THE GENERAL CUSTER MEDAL (given to one of our current military minds, not so bright) ….the secretary of veterans affairs, r.james nicholson, who spent $24 million on a postal mailing to tell veterans that he lost their private information, a story that already had appeared in the media over and over again.

****THE SNEAKY CAMERA (the hidden camera)….a growing collection of new yorkers are unaware that they are being watched by a certain taxi driver. new ones are added from time to time. take a peep at SNEAKY

****YENTA YACK FROM THE BACK OF THE HACK (what they are talking about in the yellow mobile conveyance lounge)….puerto rico weekend came and went. it was a nightmare for the city. it was so noisy that the nypd had to give out ear plugs to its cops.

****QUIET PLEASE, THIS IS THE LIBRARY (get away from the din of life)….read the book “the life and times of babe ruth” by leigh montville. the babe was a new york city institution. he truly did help build the yankee stadium and he did indeed live at the concourse plaza hotel where his wife was a client of a new york city taxi driver’s father.

****THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY (what the media didn't tell you)....diabetes for many people is a self induced disease. it is the number one growing epidemic in new york city and probably in the rest of the “civilized” world. it is about to become the single best money maker for the health industry. there is a revolutionary new drug and a new york city taxi driver is part of the testing.

****STAY INDOORS IF IT RAINS (keep dry).... during these two weeks there are two major jazz festivals, jvc and vision, happening simultaneously. there are too many events to list here so if you are coming to the big apple, check in the local newspapers for the events you want or go online to visit the two events website before you get here.UMBRELLA TIME

****THE EARL THEATER (it used to be on 161st street in the bronx. new york city has lots of rich people, but it has many more people living in slums thanks to the inaction of the city government and crooked landlords. SLUM

****CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE BIZARRE (hard to believe)....every time you turn around in this city a movie company is making a picture. great to see the celebs, but what a nightmare to drive about.

****POSSIBILITIES (could it not be?)....that more gold is bought and sold in the big apple than any other place in the world. the problem is that it may be the same gold being bought over and over again.

****STOP THE MUSIC (do you know what tv show this theme came from?)….everyone just hoped that they too could have their own witch living in their house. this particular witch was the kind that made you drool. TV

****JASON BLAIR AWARD (for the worst print journalism last week)….for letting slide the accusation by the saudi government that the united states prison at gitmo is a hell hole. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. how many prisoners at gitmo have had their hands cut off?

****BENNY HILL AWARD (for the worst broadcast journalism last week)...the nbc reporter who said from baghdad that there was increased violence because of the main terrorist getting whacked. al-zarqawi and his team were only responsible for about ten percent of the past bombings and beheadings, but he was a great showman. all the violence that took place the day after his death was minimal and had probably been planned earlier.
