****HISPANICS ARE TOLD TO STAY IN SPANISH HARLEM….in the east river there is a park called randalls island. whenever there is an event in the park, a foot bridge that crosses the east river to the island is raised so that it can not be used. there can be no other explanation other than the parks department doesn't want "those" people walking over to the island. shame on the officials.

****JASON BLAIR AWARD (for the worst journalism during the previous week)….the new york times scores a triple play. it neglects to mention that the rioters in france are muslims as it calls them "youths;" a picture of a dead soldier in iraq is labeled "it;" the report on the millions of black prisoners in jails in african countries who have never had a trial in a court doesn't mention that they are all countries that get money from the united states which could stop this horror.

****GOING OUT (a different type of place to dine)….landmark tavern on 11th avenue and 46th street. we visited it thirty years ago and it is still as nice as ever. you got to admit that is some track record. very irish.
