JUST PRESS THE START BUTTON IF YOU WANT TO HEAR THE MUSIC….
the song is an old fashion barbershop quartet in tribute to our lead true tale this week.
****NEW YORK CITY SHOWCASE (DESIGNER LINE OF CLOTHING)….see it all at SWELL
****LATE BREAKING NEWS (updated daily)…. it is our blog which changes every day. this time you can click on TODAY but in the future, you can go to it directly each day at http://epistle.blogs.com/.
****TWO WARS ARE BETTER THAN ONE…. some people die, some people make profits with u.s. army contracts. WAR
****MEN. STOP SHAVING YOUR OWN FACES….a barbershop in new york city is now charging $155 to take those hairs off your face. maybe if we mention their name and address, we might just get a free shave with all that luxury.
****THE PIRATES ARE GOING TO GET YOU….the news that pirates tried to board a luxury cruise ship is making big waves for travel agencies here in the big apple. cancellations are rolling in like rushing water. is there really something to fear
****HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT WE DO WITH OUR OLD TAXIS?...we send them off to chicago for its cab drivers to use. in a sense, you could say that we are selling the windy city our crap.
****WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A HOTEL THAT CHARGES YOU TO PICK UP A GUEST?....we still can't believe that the sheraton newark airport hotel made us pay $5 to pick up the family and $5 to drop them off. we never met the manager of the hotel but this is what we think he looks like.
****GIVE UP YOUR JOB. LEAVE HOME. COME TO NEW YORK CITY AND WORK AS A COP….the new salary for detectives is $93,000 per year. what more can we say? ****HISPANICS ARE TOLD TO STAY IN SPANISH HARLEM….in the east river there is a park called randalls island. whenever there is an event in the park, a foot bridge that crosses the east river to the island is raised so that it can not be used. there can be no other explanation other than the parks department doesn't want "those" people walking over to the island. shame on the officials.
****SPEAK NEW YAWK (people will wonder at your sophistication)…."loch in kop" means like a hole in the head. ****OLD TIME RADIO (shows you might be too young to remember)….this time it is "duffy's tavern." THE PAST ****YENTA YACK FROM THE BACK OF THE HACK (what they are talking about in the yellow mobile conveyance lounge)….the big apple now has a subway that runs without a conductor. soon the motorman will be gone also. will we someday have taxis without drivers? ****QUIET PLEASE, THIS IS THE LIBRARY (get away from the din of life)…. "team of rivals" by doris kearns goodwin and published by simon & schuster is the latest book to examine abraham lincoln. we liked it because of the many new york city connections to good old abe. ****THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY (what the media didn't tell you)....300,000 condoms ordered for new york city's high school students, but most of them never get to be used. ****THE EARL THEATER (it used to be on 161st street in the bronx. now it is here and this month's feature is "park avenue" which shows you how you are so poor because you don't live on this avenue with the rich people. PARK (please note: when playing a movie on your computer, you should diminish the size of the frame. if you have a problem, please contact us. **AND THAT NEAT MOVIE HOUSE ALWAYS SHOWED A DOUBLE FEATURE AND HERE WE ARE WITH A SECOND FLICK. this is a wonderful trip around new york city in the famous yellow mobile conveyance lounge. HONK HONK ****THE HEY ABBOTT AWARD (an epistle about life)....this week it goes to the president of france who is a real schmuck. EPISTLE ****TAKE A HIKE (discovering where the famous and infamous spots are) ….j.d. salinger lived at 300 east 57th street. ****STOP THE MUSIC (do you know what tv show this theme came from?)….the audio on the television shows was better than the show most of the time. a hint is "it is a scary family, but you just have to love them." TV ****AMMA'S KITCHEN (a recipe)….this is what you would find cooking in a nyc home)….who doesn't love cookies? GOOD EATS ****JASON BLAIR AWARD (for the worst journalism during the previous week)….the new york times scores a triple play. it neglects to mention that the rioters in france are muslims as it calls them "youths;" a picture of a dead soldier in iraq is labeled "it;" the report on the millions of black prisoners in jails in african countries who have never had a trial in a court doesn't mention that they are all countries that get money from the united states which could stop this horror. ****GOING OUT (a different type of place to dine)….landmark tavern on 11th avenue and 46th street. we visited it thirty years ago and it is still as nice as ever. you got to admit that is some track record. very irish.

****THE MOST WANTED TOUR IN THE BIG APPLE…. here are some happy visitors. you too can have a tour by going to TOUR INFO
