07/24/05: The Week of July 24, 2005 JUST PRESS THE START BUTTON IF YOU WANT TO HEAR THE MUSIC the song is in tribute to a young soldier, who we are glad to say is alive another day. he is one of the many young heroes who is making it possible for the associated press and reuters and cnn and the new york times to have the freedom to bitch and moan about the united states army day after day. take a look just below at the amazing video of him being shot. ****THIS IS WAS HIS LUCKY DAY….presented here is a short video which shows u.s. army medic pfc stephen tschiderer of medon, new york in iraq being shot. thanks to his body armor, he was able to stand up. later in the day he actually gave medical attention to the terrorist who shot him. in a reverse situation his attacker would have cut off the pfc's head. WAR ****THE SUMMER NOISE IN THE BIG APPLE WILL MAKE YOU….deaf. this is because of all the air conditioning and the rattling of beer cans, soda cans, bottles and such. what do new yorkers do to save their hearing and sanity? ↓ ****THEY WANT TO HONOR EVERYTHING BUT THE PEOPLE WHO DIED IN THE WORLD TRADE CENTER ATTACK….a variety of groups are threatening legal action unless their negative views of the united states can be on display (like a drawing of abu ghraib prisoners) at a world trade center memorial site. however, this is one of the pictures these groups say should not be put on display. ↓ ****GABMAN RIDES THE RAILS TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE NEW YORK CITY SUBWAYS….wearing a knapsack, an old tee shirt and jeans outfit, it was discovered that the police are being nice and efficient as they search passengers. (you can't imagine how hard it is for me to say something nice about the police who usually give me traffic tickets). i was stopped once. here is a candid photo of a lady who was not stopped at all, so the cops are not "profiling." ↓ ****NEW YORKERS WHO BELIEVE IN THE LORD HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR FROM BOMBERS?….emily and katie benton, two sisters from knoxville who were injured in the london terrorist bombings, said on national television that they survived because the lord likes them. the implication here is that the persons who were killed in london and at the world trade center were not liked by the lord. new yorkers think that these two girls are really two little snots. ↓ ****POTENTIAL "ASSASSINS" TO PARTICIPATE IN "KILLING" NEW YORKERS….a local organization is setting up a tournament for folks who like the idea of killing other folks. it will be a three week event and you are urged to join and have fun killing people. KILL ****HE IS THE ULTIMATE TALK SHOW HOST SELF PROMOTER….curtis silwa, co-host of the wabc morning radio show in nyc, claims that mob boss john gott jr. tried to have him whacked for bad mouthing john gotti sr. and the mob. little gotti is now on trial here in manhattan. the whole thing as presented by silwa is much nonsense. silwa has a history of telling tall tales. gotti better not use ron kuby, a lawyer who is silwa's co-host, because to listen to him sending personal messages while on air to prisoners he is representing….he isn't doing too well for them. PHONIES ****SPEAK NEW YAWK (people will wonder at your sophistication)…."mayven" is an expert. ****OLD TIME RADIO (shows you might be too young to remember)….this time it is "baby snooks." THE PAST ****THE SNEAKY CAMERA (the hidden camera)….a growing collection of new yorkers are unaware that they are being watched by a certain taxi driver. new ones are added from time to time. take a peep at SNEAKY ****YENTA YACK FROM THE BACK OF THE HACK (what they are talking about in the yellow mobile conveyance lounge)…. last week we had the story about the robberies of mourners at cemeteries. this week it is about robbing ladies who are in the toilet. ****THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY (what the media didn't tell you)….the television networks wanted to be able to film confrontations between subway passengers and police in regards to the new regulations about searching people. so, they picked those stations that serve areas of the city most likely to have problems. 14th street former home of the american communist party. 68th street where hunter college is located. sheridan square which is in greenwich village. ↓ ****STAY INDOORS IF IT RAINS (museum mania)....fdny fire zone. everything you ever wanted to know about fires., but please do not set any. FIRE FIRE ****THE EARL THEATER (it used to be on 161st street in the bronx. now it is here and this month's feature is "park avenue" which shows you how you are so poor because you don't live on this avenue with the rich people. PARK (please note: when playing a movie on your computer, you should diminish the size of the frame. if you have a problem, please contact us. **AND THAT NEAT MOVIE HOUSE ALWAYS SHOWED A DOUBLE FEATURE AND HERE WE ARE WITH A SECOND FLICK. this is a wonderful trip around new york city in the famous yellow mobile conveyance lounge. HONK HONK ****THE HEY ABBOTT AWARD (an epistle about life)....we think this organization is not helping the older folks as much as they say they are. it is the association for retired persons (aarp). EPISTLE ****TAKE A HIKE (discovering where the famous and infamous spots are) ….frank sinatra and ava gardner lived at 150 central park south. SWELLS ↓ ****CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE BIZARRE (hard to believe)....have you ever wondered what a "no standing sign" means on the streets of new york? it means the driver of an auto can not even hesitate at this spot. the sign had nothing to do with pedestrians until this past week when dopey parks department police gave two guys a ticket for "standing." ****POSSIBILITIES (could it not be?)....that a certain taxi driver in new york city is slowly becoming the "bionic man?" six implants so far. ↓ ****STOP THE MUSIC (do you know what tv show this theme came from?)….the audio on the television shows was even better than the show most of the time. a hint is UNDERWEAR ****AMMA'S KITCHEN (a recipe….this is what you would find cooking in a nyc home)….a good piece of chicken. GOOD EATS ****JASON BLAIR AWARD (for the worst journalism during the previous week)….the new york times continues to report that most people are worried about the pending extension of the patriot act. where are these "most people?" reasonable people know that a person is already being tracked by his phone bills, his credit card charges, his income tax filing and on and on. there is no real privacy anymore which is a wonderful incentive not to go around bombing people. most newspapers sell their subscription lists to other vendors. ****THE MOST WANTED TOUR IN THE BIG APPLE…. you too can have a tour by going to TOUR INFO **to listen to what happy tourists had to say about the tour, just go AUDIO **to see the tourists perform in short video productions go VIDEO **to hear broadcast spots about some of the places i take folks to, listen to these commercials that were created for a "visit new york city promotion" at SPOTS ****CELEBRITY SIGHTING (media adulation)….billy bob thornton in east harlem.
